Which of these educational options do you think would suit me since I'm disabled?

1-Go to Grad school for Spanish Literature (Even though it's one of my weaknesses & dislikes) & stay here in TX, even though it's easy to get into Grad school here.

2-Get a job, save some money, & then move to California, where I can go to school & get a certificate in Spanish translating/interpreting. This is my MOST desired career field that I feel passionate about.

3-Go through a program with Social Security to start my own business as a restaurant owner, since I receive SSI & SSocial Security & they'll cut my benefits off if I work, but if I enter this program, they won't wipe out my benefits.

4-Try to get into the SSA-PASS program, & instead of owning a restaurant, use that money to work towards going to school in California & become a translator/interpreter.

***I'm mentally disabled & got a BA in Spanish with a 2.3 GPA. I suffer OCD, Depression, Anxiety, & Tourette's. No one wants to hire me on a regular job. I give up on filling out applications, wasting my time.

ALSO, I'm in a special program @ school, called the GRAD PREP program, where I have the opportunity to increase my GPA & take the GRE & get into Grad School-but the only option I have here is Spanish Literature, which is very difficult for me. I can't even comprehend ENGLISH Literature! & I don't want to teach for a living.

***I posted this a few hours ago but didn't get satisfactory responses.

I think, perhaps the Option 4 would be better for you. If you don鈥檛 like Spanish Literature, then don鈥檛 bother with it, especially when you have depression and anxiety. Trying to get a degree in the subject you absolutely dislike will make it worse. In the long term goal, it鈥檚 better to get into the field you like and enjoy because you鈥檒l enjoy your work more. People with depression should NOT get into the field they don鈥檛 like.

With anxiety, you should never get into a restaurant business. Running a business, no matter how small it may be, is very stressful. You have to deal with rude customers, heath inspectors, vendors who would try to cheat you, paying taxes, and etc. Oh my GOD. My dad owns a business... and trust me... it is very stressful.

You should follow your dream鈥?especially if you can get some financial assistance for it. And finally鈥?two thumbs up for your willingness to overcome your obstacles.

I applaud your tenacity. In other words good for you! You have the courage to work thru what you've been dealt. You might want to see if there are any On line colleges that will assist you.
