What is the age minimum to work in a bank?

I want to work in a bank over the summer. I am 17 years old, and will be 18 in July. What is the age minimum required to work in a bank as a teller, or a similar job? And if I work there, will it help me with business or accounting for college?

You will need to check with your local banks about this. Most that I know of, you need to be 18 to work in a bank or close to turning 18, at least at a full time job. For a teller position, you do not need any business classes or college classes. You will be trained by the bank you are hired with. They may send you to a class, usually once a week for about

Do not wait until you turn 18 or even graduate from high school to apply. Banks do use part time tellers to cover shifts when someone is on vacation or needs to have a day off. And since you will be 18 in July, they may go ahead and hire you and let you get your training out of the way before vacation season starts up.

I am pretty sure that you have to be 18 but it also depends on where you live and what bank your applying for. If you are trying to work in a bank as a teller and your still in high school, they probably will not hire you because you are only able to work part time and they will most likely want someone full time. I know when I graduated from high school I was still 17 and I was able to work full time so if that's your case then they might hire you. Make sure if you get a call back to go to an interview you dress nice.

I think you need the college first like accounting classes or the bank tellers class. I think around 20 is a good age to start at a bank.
