How do u think computers would be today if bill gates and steve jobs still worked?

How do u think computers would be today if bill gates and steve jobs still worked with each other like they did back in the early 80's

Im talking about when micosoft made most of the software for apple

I'm not too sure they really "worked" together. It was more like Steve Jobs stealing technology from Xerox, which was in turn stolen by Bill Gates. Then Bill Gates beat Jobs to the PC market with Windows.

Now if those two great minds did in fact work together throughout recent computer history, then I don't think we would have come as far as we have. Them going in separate directions paved the way for a much more diverse industry, instead of building on the same technology and ideas, which would have kept computer technology more streamlined.

They've began working together (partnership) again.
Microsoft is working with Apple to bettering Microsoft programs on Apple platforms.

The reason why Apple was going downhill for a while was because Steve Jobs stopped working as CEO until recently when he came back and revived Apple.

I know this because I watched a recent video of the D5 Conference.

There may be more open source or OS/2 might be the OS of choice. The industry may not of grown as it has if they were working together, and someone else might be running some other software/hardware company that rides on the thin edge of being a monopoly.

They didn't work with eachother. In fact, they were more like rivals.
If both still programmed today, I don't think anything will be different. Since the 80's, programming knowledge & stuff in the computer world has been in steady decline. (Which makes me believe that human intelligence as a whole has been going downhill since the end of the 80's.)

Today, it is INCREDIBLY RARE to find just 1 programmer who can make an efficient program (no matter how simple). That's how bad programming is today.
Also, consumers have no standards when it comes to computer hardware & software.
In fact, consumers will even continue to buy from the same companies despite crappy documentation, crappy technical support, and feaking incredibly horrible programs/drivers which feature buggy, bloated, slow code.
I mean, I can just go on and on about the idiocy in the computer world today.
It can all be summed up as SLaI. Stupidity, Laziness, and Irresponsibility.
