Did Steve Jobs doom Apple forever?

$100 rebate to anyone who purchased an iphone at full price. He has now set a precident for that company, hurry out and buy the new ipod, when the price goes down demand a rebate for that too.

Apple stocks dropped 7% yesterday with this news.

Over / Under for todays drop is 20%.

If you own Apple stock, now is the time to sell.

maybe. perhaps the iphone has defaults no one has noticed yet, and they are just trying to sell as many as possible. or maybe he recieved a threating phone call either way he's looking more and more like a p.ussy that cant stand his ground.

apple was doomed ten years ago....now they are just being stupid trying to monopolize everything.

While I thought the whining from iphone owners was pitiful, I don't think Jobs doomed Apple. This just means that from now on, the price changes will take longer to happen - so what iphone owners did was hurt themselves. Whereas in the past, they might have been able to wait a few months and gotten a price drop, now they will need to wait years or live with the high price.

Oh well, leave it to apple fans to kill the golden goose.

Rather, he probably brought a lot of undecided buyers into the Apple orchard in the end.

Maybe Apple realized that paying that much money for a phone is stupid. I don't care how many things you can do with it. In the end something new and better and smaller will come out.

apple is doomed. mostly their mp3s sell. more PCs are sold. but more importantly steve betrayed those loyal to apple by decreasing the price of the iphone after those most willing to buy it bought it for full price.

Jobs is smarter than you think. He will sell alot more phones for doing this. And he gets $3 a month for exsiting customers and $11 a month for new customers who buy an iPhone add it up. They are going to sell the 1 millionth iPhone this month and are planning to sell 2 million iPhones before January. They are making alot of money off of this. Apple stock will go back up give it time.
