Why does the US need other countries for math and science jobs to be filled?

when did this country stop believing that math and science were good things to study and have advanced degrees in?

Friend you can thank our public education system for that. Like almost everything else in this country its going downhill. Its now just more concerned with pushing kids through the grades instead of teaching kids the skills they need in life. More and more kids are coming out of high school dumber than they came in. I'm a 3rd year in college and I look around all the time and wonder how the hell that person got in. I just thank God I went to a private school where the teachers actually valued our educations and made an EFFORT.

Our education system is just plain worse than other those of other countries.

My teachers tell us all the time that those are good fields to study in. But there are too many kids who want nothing to do with studying and college. They say we're the future, but there certainly isn't much being done to help us. If they think NCLB is helping, they're sorely mistaken.

Because we wont pay enough for the one who can do tham and not enough want to learn to do them. Becouse all the jobs are gone any ways
