Research jobs in science/engineering?

I have looked non-stop for research jobs but find them difficult to come by. I have a honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. Does anybody know any weblinks that will help me find research jobs based anywhere in the world I don't mind.

Cheers

Most researching jobs need a PhD to get in.
An honors degree in mech E won't really be that impressive.

Look for FFRDCs which are federally funded research and development centers that are sponsored by the government.

In the industry you have places like the Sante Fe Institute, Bell Labs and Google Labs. However, the competition is so high that you won't get an opportunity unless you have a Phd.

More reasonable are the FFRDCs which are non-profits but still pay well as they are government sponsored work places.

Consider
RAND
MITRE
Lincoln Labs etc.

Most of the research jobs that I am aware of are done at government or university research centers.
