Do cold-caller's get trained on the job ???? I am getting laid off tommorow !! help !!?

I work as a Cold caller , and there was 2 days worth of training , and all i learned was how to make a phone call?
now manager told me they will be terminating me tommorow
if i dn't bring any sales. Ofcource i don't want to work here

this lady on the same floor just asked me for my resume and this guy that i met in chase bank wants me to submit my resume today for a personal banker position.

But just so i am clear on this that, my background is in electrical engineering by the way ,
and do cold calling people get adequate training?
or just told to do it ..like NIKE DOES??

p.s : Nike slogan goes -"Just Do It"

it doesn;t sound like you are being layed off, it sounds like you a re being fired

I tried telemarketing once, and got like 3 hours training. I was fired the next day because in 2 days I sold NOTHING. Yes they can do it.

I hate being pushy so I hate selling.
I only tried it to prove that I couldnt do it.

You might want to find a survey interviewing position. (market research)

Millward Brown is good for that. They usually give you several days training before you start calling. I spent 4 months with them.

Some companies will provide adequate sales and cold-call training, and some will not. It depends on the company.

I suggest that you work on developing a great resume and submit it to those two people you mentioned. You want the person who is doing the hiring to look at your resume and immediately think "We need to get this person working for us"
