Dilema... I'm scared!!! please offer real suggestions, i can think of bad ones by myself!?

So in November I became so lost in life, I decided I wanted to take a break from school, I did this, and then decided I should join the air force! Well i did all that but now i'm not to sure about actually shipping out... Then I got sick and couldn't ship out, so I got a new contract written up, which I have yet to sign because I'm scared to go! At the same time at 20 years old I feel like I hit some sort of wall in life I can't get over... I can't find a job, I'm not in school, I'm unsure about the air force... I'm unsure about life in general... I got offered a job in sales, which I'm pretty good at and with time and training can get better and can be in school at the same time, but i'm afraid i'll fail like my parents expect me to, and realize i should've just went with the air force idea!!! I'm afraid i'll be in this place for the rest of my life! suggestions please!!!

Joining the airforce could give you the confidence that you need to succeed in life. Think about it this way, it is only 4 years of you life, and you will only come out better in the end.
Take some time to figure out what you really want to do. Don't make any quick decisions or any decisions under pressure. Good luck!
Why are you afraid? The Air Force is the safest branch there is, and I hope you don't assume you'll be flying jets or planes. You must be an Officer to do that and to be an Officer you need a college degree. Just go with it, it'll be a good experience, you'll visit many places, meet new people and serve your country.

But I suggest being a soldier or a Marine, it isn't as safe as the Navy or Air Force, but you'll feel great after you've served.
Just go into the air force, it's not that bad of a branch. Once your four years are up, you will have so much more life experience to better yourself on the outside, and more confidence in yourself. I did after 4 1/2 years in the Marines.
It sounds like you need to get the hell away from your parents.

Go in the airforce, it isnt the marines. I doubt you would regret it.
If deployed, go. I was in combat in 'Nam. The Air Force did a outstanding job, but mostly from secure areas. Not always and not all personnel, but most were very secure.

Don't be scared to go. It is a scary thought but when you get there it won't be as bad as you are thinking right now.

It was a long flight from Alaska, where we refueled, to 'Nam. Did a lot of thinking, scaring myself to death. When we crossed the coastline of 'Nam, we got a fighter escort into Ben Hoa, making it even scarier. Landed at Ben Hoa and a rocket attack started, thought I was dead, but here I am still kicking.
I know it is hard to decide what to do with your life, let's face it everybody goes though this phase sometime or another in their life. I say go ahead and join the United States Air Force.
There you can gain skills that will last you a lifetime. You will meet a lot of people and make a ton of friends. You will see the world in a whole new different view.
Don't be afraid. it is the fear of the unexpected, so go ahead and fight that fear.
