I'd try to stay away from "work from home" typing jobs.
While there IS money to be made from home, typing or surveys are not the best way to go.
The best way to go is to start your own business!
When I say that, I mean there are really a number of ways to make money online.
Here are just a few of them:
1. Make a website or blog on a topic that you know about.
Then, you sign up to AdSense and other PPC content sharers, and you make money when people click on your links.
2. Sell an actual product
You can still make money by selling advertising space, but this way, you make money by selling a product.
3. Sell a digital downloadable product.
Like an eBook or some other type of digital product. This way, you don't have to deal with postage or anything like that. It's like an online vending machine!
It's really easy to set up websites like these. In fact, you can buy a website on eBay for very very little time or money, and start making money within a week or two of marketing your website!

You might try looking in Craigslist in the "gigs" section. This is for short term jobs. In the right subcategory you may be able to find people who need a small amount of data entry or similar work done and it can be done remotely.

I got my info from this site. I have only worked for Alpine Access as a CSR and I love it. I can set my own hours, I can take vacations whenever I want (unpaid of course), and I can tend to my kids responsibly. One of the reasons I opted for a work from home job was so I could spend more time with my kids. I don't have to pay for gas to go back and forth to work, I don't have to put up with the attitudes and superiority complexes at traditional jobs, I get paid through direct deposit, I get to go to my kids extracurricular activities without losing money, and my car insurance is so very low. The only downside is we don't have medical insurance through the company...yet. But if I stay with them long enough I will.
Now before you apply know this; IT IS A REAL JOB. You are expected to be professional. You are expected to work the hours you say you're going to work and you must be on time. Just because it's a work at home job doesn't mean there's less expected from you. Also, at least 90% of these jobs require a professional sounding voice. No offense, but if you can't pronounce your words, the Customer Service jobs may not be for you. I'm not trying to be funny, but these companies look for the most professional sounding people to represent their companies.
Some jobs do have required equipment you must have to be able to perform your job effectively. Some require specific headsets, internet connections, and experience for example. But don't let that stop you from applying. If certain things are required you can get them from eBay, Staples, etc. dear friend
