Does a midwife do similar jobs to a registered nurse?

Which is better? And how do the average wages compare?

Are you talking about a Certified Nurse Midwife, or a lay midwife who has no medical training other than the art of birthing babies? A CNM is obviously trained in nursing and provides nursing-based care. A lay midwife would perform similar patient care tasks, but would not perform the same kinds of documentation, etc.

Since a lay midwife is not usually formally college educated, a nurse will generally make more money.

Thanx too The ReDesign Diva! Report It

nurse of course..lol

A midwife is there for baby delivery.... A registered nurse does all sorts of things. A registered nurse makes more money, is more qualified, etc.

My mom is a registered nurse.
