My husband who is a nurse seemed to not like his career anymore. What other high paying jobs he could go into?

He still likes the field of psychiatry. He has an RN license but he doesn't like to be a nurse anymore.

Remind him once again, there is no way to get $ 35-40 an hour job with AA (RN) degree except in nursing profession. Do you know how much a professional counselor with MS degree gets? Only from 35-40 thousand a year. If money is not an issue, he can work as a counselor since both are a helping profession.

What types of careers/jobs can a nurse obtain if her license was revoked? Report It

Why couldn't he be a nurse at some sort of psychiatric facility?

He should study to be a Doctor

He could probably get accepted into a Physician Assistant program. He would have more autonomy and be able to treat psychiatric patients.

If he's tired of direct patient care, he could apply to do consultation for an insurance company or seek out a hospital administrative position dealing with risk management/ medical ethics.

A doctor of course!

Maybe a pharmaceutical Rep. They make decent money and have perks such as vehicles.

He hates PSYCH Nursing. Have him check out nurse anesthesia.

Where Psych nursing deals with the mind and not the body, anesthesia is the opposite. Most of the time the patient is either asleep or sedated. (Pentothal cures all psycosis.)
The anesthetist has to watch the vital signs and monitors and does not have to second guess what the patient is telling them. Flip flopping between these two extremes is not all that unusual as they are so different from each other, it is like an entirely new profession.

Plus Nurse Anesthetists make around $140,000- $200,000 per year. He may like nursing a lot more if he was paid a lot more.
