Italian Nurse going to work in the US ? |
I'm a nurse.I was just wondering how easy it is to find nursing jobs in US, and what additional qualifications I would need to work over there. help please... Advice in general, costs of living, house prices, general income, communities, things like that! Ciao Mobb, Apparently there is a great demand for nurses and professional in the health industry. If you came here most likely you would have a great opportunity to find a decent job. I don't know how you can go about obtaining your work permit though. You would be better off in a big city, as there is more demand for health care. You find yourself a "roommate" (compagno/a di stanza) and share the cost of living. I know there are websites where you can find reliable people to share the housing with. This might sound scary for you if you are not used to this idea but, believe me, is done here all the time. Good luck! no Nursing jobs are all over the place. You will need to be certified in the US. Depending on where you want to live the cost is living, house prices, and general income varies. You're best best is to google each state you are interested in, you can get all that info there. My best advise is to be able to speak English fluently. tough question as I don't know about other parts of the country, just what I know in columbus, ohio. When you come from Italy you will have to take a test to determine that you have the right skills to be a nurse here. That can be administered at the hospital you would like to work at, or a community/local college. All states also require you have a state license to work in that state as a nurse and in the medical profession, once again a test will be administered for that. Costs of living vary all over depending on states, in Nevada they barely pay tax on anything versus in IL. you may pay a lot of taxes. The same goes for housing prices, and typically anywhere in California and New York are highly expensive. The lowest priced homes are generally in IL, Ohio, Texas, and Oklahoma. The general income as a nurse can vary depending on what kind of nurse you are and what skills you have. Generally a Registered Nurse makes on average $75,000 a year, but then again it varies by state. You can find out which state pays the highest by going to this website www.bls.gov. That is the labor statistics website. -www.remax.com can give you general house pricing per state. |
