Whats a better career Nurse or Police officer?

I cant decide. There are many pros and cons to both careers. Both are messy and dangerous jobs. Both offer opportunities. You get more respect as a cop than a nurse. But nursing is more flexible. Nurse is higherpaying. Yet, nursing isnt easy job. Cops sit in cruisers 80% of time and do hard work 20% of time and make good money. Help me decide. Which career is better?

I'd go with nursing....It higher paying, and I personally think guy nurses are cute....Police jobs are dangerous, and you never really know what your getting yourself into....Good Luck
police
It probably depends on where you get your police or nurse job. Of course, inner city police are going to deal with more crime and nurses will have to take care of those crime victims. If your in a smaller town, then either one of those jobs would be somewhat easier. I would go for the nurse job. Men make great nurses and you'll be paid more. Good luck and I hope you make the right decision!!
you r wrong about police....therefor plsdont join the force u would be an insult to them. they are underpaid b/c people dont care and they work their a$$es off........they work hard 100% of the time. better u be a nurse...
That's a tough decision. No one can really tell you what career is best for you. You could always try one and if you're not happy with it switch careers - it's not all that uncommon for people to start out in one career and then change because it wasn't what they thought.

Some things to think about:
What are your interests? Nursing has pretty flexible hours, you work 3-4 12 hour shifts and are off the rest of the week. Would you rather be out trying to protect people or healing them when someone couldn't protect them?

OR You could always be a nurse and volunteer for a police department and do both!

As a nurse you will NEVER be unemployed. As a male nurse, you will advance in your career into management very quickly. And there are so many different opportunities for nurses other than bedside nursing. It's an awesome career. Both my husband and I are nurses. . .he runs a large healthcare institution and I own a healthcare recruiting firm. . .we are both under 40 years old and we have amazing income. Something to consider. The old time stigma of a nurse is a thing of the past!
