Are PAs running out of jobs?

I'm a student who wishes to enter a physician assistant program in the near future. However in recent days I'd been hearing that a lot of PAs are running of jobs due to nurse practitioners who could do most of the tasks that the PAs are capable of doing. I would like to know if this is true?

PA's need not worry about jobs! Given the ongoing graying of America due to the explosion of baby boomers and advances in medicine coupled with their increased consumption of medical services, I don't see how America will have enough nurses or PA's over the next 10-years. I think there will be plenty of work to go around and wouldn't worry about it. Best of luck.
