Is a registered nurse a good job?

I know I want to go into the health and human service cluster, but im not sure what exact job. I love helping people and Im a very postive and friendly person. I am not so good with a lot of blood. What does a RN do exactly? Is it a good job with a good pay?

Actually with the demand for them, registered nursing is a great field choice! The pay, of course depends on the region, the shift, and the place of employment (nursing home, hospital, office, etc.). And of course, if you specialize in a particular area such as oncology, surgical, or obstetrics, or you a private nurse.

which tells you the pay rates in the UK (mostly)
Areas in the US are so different that it's hard to pin down an exact figure but for the most part, I found that graduate nurses can start at 18.00-20.00 for a generalized nurse in most states. Some hospitals even offer a signing bonus and incentives to get nursing grads...and quite a few offer tuition reimbursements.

I wouldn't worry about the blood, that's usually done by someone else. So yes, nursing is a good field of choice!
RN is a highly respected job that usually has good pay.

It can be very hard work, and sometimes there is a lot of blood to deal with. And sometimes not.

There are many ways RNs can specialize to do the types of work they like most within their field.

Visit the career center at your nearest community or four-year college and see what information they have available on both the career and what it takes to become an RN.
