Why do important jobs pay less than say sports or actors? Are human beings immoral?

For instance. I am sad to say it i know, but i am a male nurse. :P i did so through the amry. To the point!! Why do important jobs in life like: nurses,social workers,school teachers , librarians make much less for providing a useful, real, benificial service to human beings instead of lets say: Sports players, hugh hefner,george bush, and so on... what do they really provide? are we to say that in life.... entertainment, and sexual needs are more important and valuable than the essentials? like our faimly,children, health, well- being? Where has society gone wrong?

because it seems like everybody wants entertainment,
more $$ cash they make more the athletes get payed
besides, George Bush he make important decisions for the USA but i do think u r right... its not fair that teachers etc. get payed less...
