I want to get a career in Nursing, either a Children's Home Nurse or a normal nurse, have any suggestions?? |
Well my future plan is to graduate high school here(where I live) and then move down to New York and start college there taking courses for nursing etc.. My dream job is a Children's Home Nurse, but if I don't end up doing that in the end I would just like to be a normal Hospital Nurse, I still need to study for it but to be honest I don't know where to start and how, do you have any suggestions for me?? or any suggestions for where to go to college?? or where to work such as a Children's Home in New York anywhere or a good Hospital anywhere in New York?? plz help, if you could try to answer each one of those question good and they have to be helpful then I'll give you the ten points, plz thanks so much for your help guys this will mean sooooooo much to me!!!! You don't even know HOW great it would be if you give me this information, well thanks sooooooo much again lol I can't wait until I'm done high school and college!! lol see ya xoxo.........................x... Well while in high school try to take all the Bio and Chem classes you can. After you graduate try to choose a college that has an accredited nursing program. You have the choice between getting an Associates of Science in Nursing (2 year program) or getting a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (4 year program). Either degree will allow you to sit for nursing boards (the exam needed to practice in a particular state.) When choosing a program ask their counselors or recruiters what their first time board passing rate is. Try to pick a school that has at least 95% first time pass rate. It will usually indicate a quality program. Once you graduate and are board certified than it should be easy to get a job. If you want to be a Children's Home Nurse than try to get a job in Pediatric Intensive Care as soon as you graduate. It will prepare you for the home field which requires a high level of independent thinking. Good Luck!!! Source(s): Bachalors of Science in Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago. Class of 97. 6 years in Transplant Intesive Care. well it quite depends on your job outlook meaning where will you get this job and were it is most needed and you probably have to move further in to distanant states because you probably won't find it in cramped placese like in new-york or new-orleans so i would start looking for the job outlook now before its needed |
