Can a CPS record ban you from being a cop? Or having any city, state, or governement job? What about a nurse?! |
What if CPS got involved with you on neglect allegations, but you did everything that CPS required and your kids were returned? Does that haunt you when you apply for state/gov/ city jobs? If you have ever been convicted of a domestic voilence, child endagerment type law, it will normally keep you from being able to own or carry a gun. And no one can be a police officer if they are not allowed to carry a weapon, Officers on duty are normally suspended during investigations for these issues if they are already working. WAS IT UNF0UNDED? it shouldn't if the case was closed. if not it might show up. contact the case worker and ask if the case is still open or did they close it. No. CPS records are not public. Obviously, you have alot of issues with the CPS. It sounds like the children were removed for a period of time from your care. The CPS provides services such as parenting classes, etc., and can require that you stay clean and sober (if that was an issue) for a period of time, and attend family therapy. You did what they requested and your children were returned to your care. The case is closed. CHINS (Children in need of services) cases are sealed. They are not public record and cannot be shown or release to requesting parties. Your involvement with the CPS will not be disclosed in any way, so it should not and would not prevent you from doing anything, UNLESS, there were SEPARATE CRIMINAL CHARGES IN ADDITION to the CPS case. Like Drug Charges, Domestic Abuse, etc. Those are charges that can affect employment. Good Luck! |
