Is it possible to hate everything about being a CNA but still be a nurse?

I am a CNA in a hospital and I hate everything about the job. I'm going to school to be a nurse but now I'm wondering if maybe this isn't the field for me. I understand these jobs have different responsibilities but they work closely together so I see the good and bad of both jobs.

No, not if you hate "everything" about the job. Being a CNA is hard work, but rewarding at the same time. You must be kind, caring and compassionate. You stated you work in a hospital. Be glad that you do not work in a nursing home. You would have a much, much more difficult and back-breaking job. If you work in a hospital and dislike your position as much as you say, I most definitely would say nursing is not the career for you. Although you did not indicate whether you were going for your LPN or RN, you must remember, you are there for the patient - the patient is not there for you. If you are interested in health care, perhaps you should consider another allied health field such as radiology, physical/occupation therapy or respiratory therapy. I would talk to a career counselor at your college and make sure that there are not other options that wouldn't be a better fit.
It depends. I've watched the nurses at a nursing home & in my opinion they don't do much-the bad ones that is. The good ones they pitch in & help out. I think it depends on where you'll work. If I understand it correctly as a CNA you're doing much more hands on. I've seen that the nurses tell the CNA's what to do. The nurses where I'm talking about just push pills.
