If I have a felony sex conviction, could I ever become a nurse? |
I was 18 at the time and the girl was 14. They charged me with child molestation although the girl was sexually mature and could have passed for 15. Before this thing happened, I was getting my life together and was accepted into the nursing program. But due to the circumstances, I declined the acceptance into the nursing program. I know that nursing is my passion and want to know if I'll ever be able to return to this field. I know that sex crimes are quite political at the moment. I do have quite a bit of knowledge of whether or not I could get a nursing degree and get a job, but I don't have anything solid. My feeling is that I can't do it at this time, yet, but I want to remain hopeful. well first, u shouldn't mess with kids that are that old. second, yes u still can get a liscense and a job. but u will prolly have to settle for lpn. cuz rn's have to do a rotation in maternity and peds. and being a ped, u can't get near kids. but, depending on what ur charge is, after 10 yrs, some charges no longer stick with u. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! You might have difficulty working in patient care -- but you could get a different kind of health-related degree like laboratory work. This would be similar types of studies. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! I highly doubt they would hire somone that has a sex conviction, you took advantage of a young girl. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! You *may* be able to get a degree. But actually working as a nurse I doubt very seriously. |
