Do you think being a nurse in the US is a stable job?

will it give you a stable life? financially?

Absolutely! It's in incredible demand now, too, and a lot of places are offering HUGE signing bonuses (incentives), like a down-payment on a house and moving costs paid, or $10000.00 cash at signing, pay for your college education, and so on. It's an amazing industry right now.

... and it will stay high-demand. By 2010, one quarter of our population will be seniors. That, alone, will increase demand by multiples. Plus, people will always be sick.

You will always have a job if you are a nurse in the US.There is a shortage of nurses, and they are always advertising in the paper for nurse's jobs. They are paid quite well, but work very hard.

I'm not sure about the US, but in Canada, especially BC, there's a HUGE demand for nurses. My mother is a Registered Nurse, and she makes enough money to pay the mortgage and then have money left over to buy concert tickets, go golfing, and get her hair done at a salon!

Not to mention the hospital calls her almost every day wanting her to work overtime. Quite often she'll get calls from three different wards wanting her to work!
