orderly, CNA, LPN, RN--what are the differences in responsibility for these positions? I am considering nursing school to get an accelerated BSN (I have another BA degree.) and qualify for the RN exam, but I want a job that is fulfilling and intellectually challenging. My only experience with nurses has been in the doctor's office where all I have seen them do is take blood pressure/weight and write up a chart. I don't want to learn a lot of great medical information in nursing school and not get to use it. What kind of more advanced responsibilities might a BSN holding hospital or ER nurse have? Can you point me to any 'real world' nursing blogs?
that was probably a cna, not a nurse practicioner. Nurses (RNS) can do many things being practically a gynocologist (the lady I usually see for this is a RN), in my doctors office I perfer to see the RN because I like her more than the doctor, etc, etc. the more you do depends on your degree. |
