Do you think high school should train kids for good jobs, like drafting etc?

I have always wondered why they don't have lots of high school classes that train kids for really good jobs, and have classes like collage classes so kids could go from high school into good jobs. I think of computer assisted drafting, word processing, programming, nursing assitant, and many others. What does a high school education prepare you to be in terms of getting a job that pays well?

No. Most high school students have no idea what they want to do with their life. For that matter, neither do a lot of college students and adults. Most people will do at least one complete career change in their working life.

All that being said, it's the high school's job to prepare you for the changes you will be making through out your life. Specializing so early will limit you chooses later on.yes they should. My high school actually had two programs, one was called CDA (Construction Design Academy) and another was HCA (Health Careers Academy). I was in HCA and it helped out ALOT!
They do have college classes available for high school students. At least in my state they do (MD) but you aren't ever going to be able to get a college education in high school.
I live here in Texas, and personally I think they need to teach more on subjects that will actually be used in day to day life. You know, shopping the best buy, balancing a check book, figuring you time, payroll, taxes.
I know that they go over subjects related to this but it is gone over too quickly and then on to bigger and better things. We are skipping the little important things here.
I think some actual training in HS would be great, too.
Let's face it not everyone is cut out for college.
Yes, I think it is a great idea for kids that want a vocation and don't want to take the route of a four year college or a trade school. Where I went to high school, they had a program called ROP, or Regional Occupational Program. Kids were able to learn skills like video production, graphic design, CAD/CAM, and a few other areas while getting high school credit. Many of the course were on campus at a local junior college, so some people were exposed to college at an early age and decided to take that route instead.
YES! they should have schools that get you fully certified in your field of work you want. like computers. you should have a microsoft mcse and comptia network+ a+ certifications. that way you can get that entry level job and go pay for your own college degree!
