NURSES!!! I need you! I am studying to be a nurse and I need advice from you!!!?

I just want to know if this is the right job for me. School is so hard and I really don't know much about it. I'm starting my CNA next semester. Do any recent nurses have any advice or input on this? Where should I work, what kinds of jobs are there? Any other input would be great, too! Thanks ahead of time!!!

There are tons of different types of nursing jobs currently I take care of severely disabled children in the home to allow their parents to be able to work, shop, and have some personal time. I work in their homes it is very easy. My husband calls me an overpaid babysitter, but I'm not I care for some really sick kids. At one time I workied for an agency where they sent to me to all kinds of different places nursing homes, hospitals, hospice homes, children homes, and mental hospitals. I really liked that job I really learned alot in those 3 years. I love being a nurse and wouldn't change it for anything. School was hard for me too I really struggled with some of the subjects I was a verry poor student in high school and I waited 10 years before I went to nursing school and I regret that too. If you really want to be a nurse don't give up. It's worth it to hang in there. Source(s): Life.
I spent 12 yrs. as a general manager in foodservice before I got fed up and decided I needed a career. I went back to school for my L.P.N. and have never regretted it. It is incredibly rewarding and satisfying, but it can also be tedious and thankless. Jobs in my area can be found in nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, home health care, private clinics, even a few construction companies that keep a nurse or two on staff for emergencies. I found my Path, and it is being a nurse.

Are you just going to be a CNA? Or go on to an LPN or an RN?

Most CNA's work at nursing home. Hospital and Dr's offices also hire CNA's.

I would totallly suggest either just going straight for an LPN or stay in school after the CNA training.. Most CNA's make minimum wage up to about 10 dollars.. of course how much you make depends on where you live.. I live in the U.S. well midwest part to be exact.. Around here you make minimum wage up to 8 an hour to start..
