What would the average salary for a registered nurse be in New Orleans now that the hurricane has passed? |
I heard that minimum wage jobs now pay like $10 bucks (like flipping burgers at McDonalds) is the need for nurses great enough to have the salary increased? RNs command one of the most stable salaries across the nation, so I doubt you'll see a big rise in salaries in New Orleans. What you'll probably see, however, is a sign-on bonus and help with relocation and housing. I'm a nurse (not in New Orleans) and I heard they were paying $85 an hour at one point. I'm not sure if that is still the case, but I would be curious to know. Tread water lightly!..Ever since Katrina New Orleans has been jacking up prices on everything trying to Recoup their losses so even though RN's may get paid well, the cost of living expenses would be thru the roof! |
