Jobs for marketing majors? |
From what I've heard, there seem to be a lot of job opportunities for those who major in marketing, however, I am unsure as to what specific jobs one can have after graduating. What specific jobs can marketing majors get? Fashion Ideal jobs for marketing graduates are marketing reseacher/analyst kind of positions at marketing heavy-weights such as Proctor & Gamble, Nike, etc. But these companies only interview students that are in top 10% of the class. Bottom 20% usually end up at nearby shopping malls working as store clerks at The GAP, Banana Republic, Sears, etc., making only slightly higher salary than high school graduates. There are other options besides working with a major company in brand/marketing. There are many small companies that don't require an mba or top 10%. There are also positions on the service side of marketing research such as Nielsen, IRI, and other market research houses. Good luck - it's a great field to be in. |
