Marketing/advertising professional with 11 years experience in need of job . Help!?

I have 11 years of marketing/ advertising experience ( largely in the cpg industry) and a proven track record of success. I have a resume which I believe well highlights my experience and successes. I lost my Marketing Dir. job when my company decided to restructure over a year ago. Since that time, I have had a few call by recruiters and companies. Unfortunantly, nothing has really panned out. On top of this it seems like the job market has slowed down since I have not heard anything for a few months. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to look ( other than the big job boards), or other ways to gain interest in me as a prospective employee. Thanks for any help.

Otherwise, my advice is to try networking - are there any groups you can join? Even chat rooms online? Or, if you went to school, you often can still work with their placement department.

Usually, when researching the jobs board, i find that Cellular Phone companies are always hiring for marketing positions.

Check out the websites for Verizon, Cingular, TMobile, and more.

Other options are online companies such as Buy.com, TigerDirect, and more, as they are always in need.

If you can not market yourself to an employer, how can you market their product?

Try this website I went to called www.ihiresalespeople.com . I have been in sales for ten years now and have been battling a non-compete for 18 months now, so I had to find a job outside my area. They did this resume blast and sent my resume to over 1000 (that's not a typo), recruiters and privately marketed jobs and I immediately got over forty calls the first day. They don't charge if you do the free one, and really that's all you need if you have the success behind you. Most of the companies will pay to relocate you if you are wanting or willing to move and you can target specific area codes (it says has to be local, but they send to any area code you put in).
