The best way to get a good marketing job? |
With a degree in Marketing and little to no experience? I would call companies that you want to work for and ask for the marketing manager (if they are large) or the Owner (if it's small). Introduce yourself, tell them you'd like to work with them and go from there. This will help build a list of contacts and get you past the HR departments that focus on screening you out. Don't let one or two rejections stop you -- keep calling people until you get the job you want. Experience. Try to generate some sample work and see if it will create yourself a portfolio. Be gutsy and bold. The more attention you can generate the better. If you have a degree, you have little experience as is. Make a portfolio with some samples you already have from class. And then just apply! Apply for all marketing jobs offered in your area. If they don't call you, so what? At least you tried and they saw your time. Contact other firms and see if their hiring. Same thing--if not, oh well. At least you're trying. |
