Marketing a drug that I use?

I am 20 years old and have rheumatoid arthritis, I am disabled. I am in college and have not picked a major yet. I am considering a couple new drugs to take for my condition. Is it possible for me to get into the field of marketing, and get a job marketing a drug that I use? I guess my real question is will I have an edge or advantage over other people marking in the medical field if I actually use the drug myself. My condition is very rare so there cannot be many people in the field of marketing with my condition. Do marketing agencies hire people specifically because they have to use their product?

Not necessarily. What I think you should do is finish your degree, whatever it is, business, history, etc. Then apply at major pharmeceutical companies as a sales rep. There is heaps of training involved, but as long as you have a degree and a strong personality, you will at least get the interview.

I don't think that you being a patient who uses the drug will help you get the job. Who knows how long that drug will be around? Just get into the pharmeceutical sales market and you'll be making six figures in less than 5 years.

No I don't think so. In case a person's condition gets worse during the course of several years, he/she would be a walking advertising about ineffectiveness of such a drug.

Concentrate on getting well again instead by exploring and investigating all your options to optimal health. You will get well no matter what doctors say only if you believe so yourself.

My recommendation to start with is free download of a book called "Lessons From The Miracle Doctors." by John Barron.
You will find it at http://www.jonbarron.org/

Get well, your future is bright.
