Are there more jobs in Alaska than Colorado?

I've lived in Colorado for almost a year and I can't seem to find a decent steady job. I've been told the job market is tough here because there's so many people from the West Coast relocating here, so competition is high. I've thought about moving to Anchorage where I am hoping there is less competition. Any thoughts?

Where are you in CO? Most of the telecommunications giants are headquartered or have regional offices in Denver. CO is a huge, economically diverse state so the job market varies greatly by area.
Mountain areas are seasonal, as well as agricultural areas, etc. etc.

You get paid more in Alaska because everything costs more.

Depending on what you do....yes. I have a friend from Anchorage, and he said the job market was wide open, and paid a LOT better than any other state.

Check out the want ads in the Anchorage Daily News and the paper in Fairbanks (I forgot the name of it). That will give you and idea of the job market. You can also look up the State of Alaska job site. Good luck.
