Jobs/living in VA? |
I want to move to Virginia Beach,VA and I am looking into administrative Assistant jobs and I wanted to know is the job market good or bad and are living expense are cheap. Any native Viginians please respond. thanks! I recently saw a communtiy property called the Palms,, anyone know much about it? As a native Virginian with friends in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, I can tell you that real estate is not cheap due to the large number of military bases in the area. A friend of mine who just moved to New York rented a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment for $700/month. Not familair with the palms, but found a helpful link... http://www.apartmentreviews.net/ratings/... The job market is really not all that good here. Of course there is always a need for admin pro's, but don't expect to make a lot of money as compared to say Northern VA. Housing was inexpensive at one time, but that too has changed. The price is usually pretty reflective of what you get, and make sure you find out the decibal levels (required by law to be disclosed) as you do not really want to be at the end of a runway. I would look to get a job before a place to live. You could get a place in VA Beach and the best job is in Chesapeake (15-30+ minutes), or worse yet Newport News (tunnel congestion and 30+ minutes). If you have a decent online hookup, map out the prospective housing on google earth satellite mapping. Most apartment communities will list an address. the house market here is very pricey ... |
