I grew up in Pennsylvania, it's a beautiful state with high values and hard working people. But as they say it's not where u grew up, it's where u go after you grow up, I had to leave because of the lack of job opportunities. HARRISBURG -- Pennsylvania鈥檚 seasonally adjusted civilian labor force 鈥撯€?the number of people working or looking for work 鈥撯€?rose by 7,000 in January to 6,296,000. Resident employment rose by 27,000, while the number of unemployed Pennsylvanians fell by 20,000. The labor force was 2,000 above the January 2005 level. Over the past 12 months, resident employment rose by 54,000, while the number of unemployed individuals dropped by 52,000. Pennsylvania鈥檚 seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell in January to 4.4 percent, its lowest level in nearly five years. The rate was down three-tenths of a percentage point from the December 2005 rate of 4.7 percent. The January 2005 rate was 5.2 percent. Pennsylvania鈥檚 seasonally adjusted rate was three-tenths of a percentage point below the United States鈥?rate. Pennsylvania鈥檚 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs count rose by 4,700 jobs to 5,742,300. The 0.1 percent increase in jobs for the month was equal to the national gain. Pennsylvania jobs have risen for five straight months and in nine of the past 10 months.
