Jobs with a statistics degree? |
I'll be graduating from college this June with a BS degree in Statistics with an emphasis on Business with a preference to marketing. What job can I get? Look at the insurance companies. The actuaries and related are mathematicians and statisticians. With an "emphasis on Business with a preference to marketing", you can also talk to advertising companies. They have the artsy-types to cook up ads, but need the number-crunchers to show how well they actually work. Good luck. Have you checked with your advisor at your college? This is where I would start. They would best able to guide you in your strong areas. Also the local library might be a start. Marketing Analyst Marketing Research (with a stats degree you could do primary research and analysis) Economics Financial Analyst Worked in Marketing for years Marketing and Statistics go more hand in hand than you might imagine. All the marketing people rely on numbers, surveys, etc. Insurance people are always in need of statisticians, actuaries, etc. Statistics (sports, research, etc.), Finance, Consulting. With business and marketing skills and a math background, your general business acumen is probably high and you could work in many industries. Don't expect to necessarily work directly with statistics, but instead rely on the strengths of your skills in math and business to open a lot of doors for you. |
