How do I find unadvertised jobs?

I have heard that 75% of the job market isn't advertised. How would I find a job in the PR, advertising, or media industry that isn't posted online or in the newspapers? Would knowing someone in a company help?

Just search for vacancies or careers on the companies' Websites. You can add 'vacancy' as a keyword in a search engine as well as the type of a company you would like to work for.

If you want to find hundreds of unadvertised jobs you can go to the freelance sites and there you will be able to contact all the employers and work for them.
