What are some jobs (careers) that I can get with a BA in Russian? or an International Business BA? |
I'm considering to double major. I am currently an undergrd persuing a BA in International Business, and now I'm planning to double major and get another BA in Russian. I'm just wondering wether it is a good idea, I do have th passion for it and I've taken 21 units worth of upper division Russian with all grades B or higher.. just now, I don't know what my possibilities are in the job market. Also, I'm planning to go to graduate school and don't really know what I can go for, or study, for my MA with these two majors. Please, if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Working for the government is much easier, with desired language skills. I believe you would also stand a good chance with the Foreign Service If you haven't already, you might want to take some classes in your speech department, such as interpersonal communication, professional/business communication, intercultural communication. These will be definite assets, whether you go into the public or private industries. I just heard about a friend-of-a-friend who currently lives in Russia, working as an English/Russian translator for a corporation. A number of universities also offer interdepartmental MA programs, allowing you to spend time in several areas while still earning a degree. This will be a lot faster than trying to earn two graduate degrees; many schools will require you to submit a thesis/pass a comprehensive exam for each major, as well as spend an extra year in courses, whether you need it or not.
