How do you find out info about the new gov funded retraining programmes for ppl losing jobs thro disabilty? |
there is supposed to be a new government incentive to get people who have become unable to do their present job because of developing disabilities retrained and back onto the job market, i was wondering if anyone had any information about this or any phone numbers or website addresses that might be useful thanks Check with Social Security under Work Incentives. 1-800-772-1213 or www.ssa.gov Also look for a benefits planner near you-they can find out for you and it is free. Source(s): http://www.dmas.virginia.gov/mb-bpoa_fac... Every state has some type of program to assist people with disabilities in the workforce as a result of the Americans with Disabilities Act... In Texas there is the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services or DARS. If you live in Texas call 1-800-628-5115 or check out www.dars.state.tx.us Good Luck! Used to work for them. I recommend checking with your state's department of vocational rehabilitation and also Workforce. Also check with the Social Security Administration about the Ticket to Work program. I have included several links below. http://www.ssa.gov/work/ http://www.ssa.gov/work/serviceproviders... http://www.ssa.gov/work/beneficiaries/be... http://www.yourtickettowork.com/endir... http://www.socialsecurity.gov/disability... |
