Where is the nicest, affordable town/small city with ocean/lake access, low crime, fair weather and good jobs?

We are considering where in the US to move next. Would love some feedback from well-traveled readers on where they think a great place to live would be.

Have lived in Charlottesville, VA, Greensboro and Charlotte, NC, Rochester, NY, and a few other places.

Like:
Low crime
Water views or access to a lake or the ocean
3 or 4 seasons w/short winter
Attractive downtown
Attractive area scenery
Not too remote, larger city within one hour
Good entrepreneurial or job market
Not too touristy but worth visiting
Educated population
Fairly affluent to support good restaurants and grocery store
Nice housing for $300K or less

Dislike:
High crime
Depressed economic status
Long winters
Large bugs or lots of mosquitos

Branson, Missouri...I lived outside of Branson for many years and it is so beautiful! Close access to three lakes ( Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals)...Safe community with little crime...In the heart of the beautiful Ozarks with many activities..they do have a lot of tourists in the summer but during the winter the tourists all but disappear.Amazing seasons, each distinct with short winters. Springfield, Missouri is only 45 minutes away, and it is Missouri's 3rd largest city and Kansas City, Missouri is only a 4 hour drive. Housing is also affordable and gas is very cheap compared to what I'm paying now (I"m in South Dakota now). Branson has everything you want on your list.
