There are a wider range of fields you can go into with economics. Of course double major would be better if you are up for the work load. Source(s): http://payscale.com/
Really? do you think any emloyer will consider you skilled with those courses?
Economics is a great background for graduate study in political science or law. Marketing is a sales job.

To be honest, it doesn't really matter in the long run what you major in. Have fun in college, work hard, and the hard skills you learn in any discipline overcome differences between them. The real lessons are in balancing work, social life, money pressure, teamwork, dating and your sanity while trying to get the most out of life.
major in accounting, minor in english, then go for the CPA. Want a MBA---get a law Degree/JD
