I am a pre-law student (so I guess my undergraduate major doesn't matter too much, but I want something to fall back on). I'm trying to decide between Marketing and Economics. Which is more flexible (covers a wide array of jobs in many different fields) and which is more profitable?
Marketing is! Just make sure that you also pick a minor and/or specialty. I'm going to work soon on a Master's degree in Marketing, and my undergraduate major was Marketing. If you have high analytical and math skills, Marketing can be very profitable since you could become a marketing research or product manager and there are plenty of jobs in those areas. With Economics, you most likely would never become an economist - you would need to go into Finance or Investment Management instead.
