What is it like as a westerner working in ShiangHai China? Ive been offered a job there.? |
Job is interior design, consultant. What things should I be asking for/ expecting? shanghai is an amazing city. it has enough western perks so you can get a piece of home when you need it, and you can always go on weekend trips to catch a bit of the culture. there's so much to do...you'll love it...absolutely love it! ITS VERY GROSS!!!! LOOK OUT FOR THE SITTING TOILETS AND THE CHINESE FOOD AND ALSO THE FRIED ABORTED BABY!!!!! It's just another BIG metropolis. OK, so a really crowded & BIG metrolpolis at that. But Shanghia is really open with tons of expats already in place, some really enjoying it. If you learn a little mandarin, get used to crowded situations and the traffic, you might just come to enjoy this old city. Of course, as with any city, there is a dark side and all the sinful things that goes with it. From gambling to prostitution, drugs to secret cults. Venture with caution according to your own personal risk level. |
