Do you think US will lose jobs legalizing Immigrants? |
I think only certain Americans are afraid. The ones who are not competitive. People lose their jobs because of all sorts of reasons, The immigrants are not responsible for AMERICAN companies outsource their labor work to countries like China or Singapore, they are not responsible for Globalization, in fact they come here because AMERICAN companies closed their business over in Mexico and went other place. People have always been afraid, that's how US Government wants you, that's why now they have the congress power to invade other countries with your money, money you say is going to immigrants in welfare. If you give immigrants a chance to be here legal, they will pay taxes, and contrary of those who think that they will ask for benefits, they will succeed in the American Dream and produce jobs for your children. Most of them know how to work hard and can be entrepreneurs, Don't you think that's what McCain and Kennedy are trying to do? Put these work force to build a better America He should have held out for Economics 102 or even (gasp) 201! The American economy relies on cheap labor, as it always has (slave labor in some fashion or another), to grow to its unproportionate size (without which you would have known the true meaning of unemployment and/or poverty.) Legalizing immigration will raise wages as legal immigrants actually qualify for minimum wage and under the table workers will become harder to find. Thinking about supply and demand (they did bring that up in 101, I hope?) there wouldn't have been a supply for cheap labor if American companies hadn't ravenously demanded it. Perhaps when legal immigrants qualify for all the conveniences they couldn't as "illegals" they will go to real hospitals, drive fancy insured cars, etc., and will pour even more capital into the big pie y'all are going to have to learn to share at some time or another.
