What motivates foreigners to come to China?

here is the deal , i wanna make a docu covering foreingers living in China ,,,lots of chinese are wondering what motivates those foreigners to come to China ,,is it just cos they have a hard time finding a job back in his own country ? or just for sightseeing ? or any other reason ?

The reasons are so many. Some western people go there sent from their companies to supervise or to help business relations. There are lot of people interested in Chinese culture or people who have studied Chinese linguistic so they get lot of opportunities to work in China.
China becomes very open market and big economy so no wonder this is happening. I've been to China. I found it extremely interesting though quite different from my culture. The hardest thing to fit into was the high humidity climate and the lack of good yogurt, milk and cheese.

I'm English & aside from Britain, have only ever been to European countries. I would love to go to China because the culture, language etc are just so very different - I find it totally intriguing!
I'm currently teaching in China. I always liked kung fu movies. I had an opportunity to teach in a foriegn land and I took it. But if I wasn't ever asked I don't think I would have come. I wanted to travel, see the world and get paid for it. I had just graduated from college and didn't know what to do with myself, saw an ad in the paper and called. It could have been anywhere. Once I realized the demand for English teachers with only a Bachelors degree I applied in Japan, China, and looked at getting a toefl certificate for Thailand. I got the job in China immediately and they wanted to know how fast I could get there (should have been a tip off). Admittedly I knew very little about China before I came. It was just some far off exotic land to me then.

Both answers fit, looking for a job, opportunity for some sightseeing. And to experience life in another culture not just a stop at the tourist sights but to see inside the homes and the back streets of daily life.
