Has anyone studied internship for ACUPUNCTURE in china Beijing Tianjin? |
I am interesed in traveling to china to intern in a acupuncture chinese medicine hospital. I currently have my masters degree in chinese medicine in america. I do not speak chinese, but I am interested in a 3 month language study. I am interested in 3-6 months of internship, but hopefully more. I am also interested in learning how to cook chinese food so any links to culinary schools would be great. The cooking would be just for fun. Questions: What are ur experiences with your training? Where did u train? Was it difficult to use a translator during classes? Where did u stay and what were the dorms like? Internet included if not how much. Are there any chinese websites that u can find apartments with? What was the cost for training and living? Any recommendations other than Beijing and tainjin? Would u recommend finding an internship position some where in america instead of china? While there how could I find a possible conversational english teaching job? Thank you First off, GO TO CHINA for acupuncture. No matter the level of expertise in an American school, you will never fully appreciate the beauty of your Chinese medicine unless you see it where it was born. I have never been, but like you, am working on studying Tuina in China (on a shorter course). Beijing is where you must start, its the center of it all. And you can always go from there. I would suggest strongly the chinese language course, but as informed from a chinese friend who teaches classes in languages in Beijing..."there are more people in China learning English right now, than there are native English speakers in the world"....thats positive news for a native English speaker! Check out CIEE, I-to-I.com, and search for any of the MANY teaching english as a second language programs that are out there today. So Many! If you work enough now, and save, you will be fine for a while in china, concerning the cost of living. Good luck, sorry I couldn't provide specific answers to the training, but I will be back to your question to see answers from others for myself too! All the best in your venture!
