What class of visa do I need if I want to move to China for a year, but I don't yet have a job there? Maybe you can apply for an X (student) visa while learning Chinese there. Have a look at or call www.visaservice.co.uk Z visa is required to work in China. L visa is a tourist visa. F visa is a Business visa. D visa is for people married to Chinese citizens. A resident permit grants you a certain amount of time to live in China...a visa may or may not grant temporary resident status. Legally, you can not look for a job or work at a job on an L or on an F visa. Some people work and live in China on an L visa as many employees and even government officials turn a blind eye, if the quanxi or money is right. If you got caught working though, you could be fined, imprisoned, and deported. An F visa is strictly for business purposes. You are not allowed to work in China, except in the capacity related to your business activities related to your company. Taking a paying job is theoretically a violation of Chinese law and can result in deportation. Often, people in China on an F Visa, break the rules and work as DJ's, teachers, models, interpreters, etc, without getting in trouble. But if they are discovered, trouble comes quick. All classes of Visas are issued for varying amounts of time. It is doubtful that you would be issued a L or F visa for a full year. While in China, all foreigners must register where they live with the Public Security Bureau (PSB) in the area where they live. Hotels and Hostels routinely do that when a guest checks in on an L visa. Business travellers on a F visa often rent apartments and must register with the PSB themselves. Most registrations of people on Z or work visas are done by the foreigner's employer. Try explaining remaining in China for a long period of time to the PSB when they knock on your door and ask why you have not registered with them. Or try explaining why you are working on the wrong visa. China is not the southwest U.S. Illegals aren't pampered here. doesn't matter .there are a lot of schools which need English native speak es to be their foreign teachers my skype is graciepurplesunset my email is graciepurplesunset@hotmail.com Modified 1 year ago |
