Not any more.
The government is still behined most things but in Beijing, Shanghai and Gunzhou there are many businessmen who now own their own businesses. I work with many of them every day.

Not Really. They have grown considerably after controlled opening out! Having realized the benefits and the fruits of economic growth China is no more dogmatic communist country. Even Indian communists are showing signs of changes. Real Communism is not in China or Russia but its existence is seen in India's Kraal and West Bengal who may be the left overs!
