Did your mom ever say "The poor kids in China would be happy to eat that?"?

When referring to something you would not eat. Are those same 'poor' kids who now have many of our jobs eating better than some of us now?

I think she refered to people in India rather than China. I always felt obligated to eat every bit of my beef steak because there were kids in India who didn't have any on their plate. Now, we have outsourced part of our dinner to telephone operating computer technicians in Bombay.

Actually, for me it was the poor kids in Biafra.
It was the ones in Ethiopia who were vying for my table scraps. I told her to stick it in an envelope and mail it to them.
yeah I never really understood that. I mean it's too late for them to get it anyway right. So what are we supposed to do eat it for them?
