Curious about the point of the immigration issue...? |
if the concern that many people are having is the idea that immigrants are coming in and taking jobs here in the u.s. how come no one is making any laws or protesting about the major corporations that are exporting american jobs to china? I think more people are upset at the fact that illegal immigrants are not paying income taxes but are receiveing free services. I have to tell clients of mine (all the time) that pursuing a case costs more than what they would recover if we were successful. I think that trying to stop the ILLEGAL immigration problem is going to cost much more than what we spend in benefits. These are VERY technical economic questions - that even the smartest economists in the world argue about. Chances are there is no real answer to these questions. They are simply politically motivated issues that help get people elected. DOn't fall for it! i can say that outsourcing is in the best interests of the economy ... outsourcing leads to less spending of money by the companies and can lead to emergence of many companies and that can create jobs in US .. this is good for the economoy as both companies and the people reap the profit one point that is lost is that when these people become legal, they too would not do certain jobs, neither will they work for min. wages, already they do not work for any min. wages, when you go to the labor sites you have to pay them big bucks, only good thing is that you don't have to pay med. ins. etc. DaNnY(Top)Understands The Economy Answerman AND Christii2(Above) Are BOTH On The Right Track THERE ARE MANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS In This Country That Are Working In The AGRICULTURE Industry (The Very SAME Industry They Keep Shoving Down Our Throats That "AMERICANS WONT DO") That Are Making (Get This)$$14.00 Per Hour(UNTAXED) There Are MANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS In This Country That Work In The CONSTRUCTION Industry That Are Making $$20.00 Per Hour(UNTAXED) WHAT OUT OF WORK AMERICAN (And We ALL Know An Out Of Work American) Would Not JUMP On A Job Like That?? On ABC This Week, March 26, 2006, weasel Arlen Specter, hauled out the other big lie, "We have created a need for these workers who will do the work Americans won't." Bul**hit!!!Once we begin to deport these criminals, Americans will step in and do the jobs - jobs that have been taken away from them because employers have turned a blind eye to the law and are looking for cheap labor. As for Arlen Specter: why is he still sitting on his @$$ doing nothing while banks in this country are knowingly and aggressively violating federal law by giving home mortgages to criminals (illegals). Congress and the Department of Justice are simply ignoring this outrage, yet Specter blathers on the stupid tube that these 15 million plus criminals should be given a free pass. If Congress were to pass a law that said, quite simply, that the CEO of any business that was caught employing ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS went to jail for a year - NO EXCEPTIONS - then within a month there would be ten million (more or less) people lined up at the Mexican border trying to get out of the United States And Back To WHATEVER Country They Came From. There Are MANY Americans That Are UNSKILLED And Perhaps UnEducated(The Result Of OVERCROWDED SCHOOLS) That Would Be MORE THAN WILLING To Step In And Take These Jobs That Are Filled By ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS The US unemployment rate would drop close to zero, and wages would begin to rise. The American middle class would begin to return to viability, as would the union movement in this nation. ILLEGAL ALIENS in America are here only because they are GUILTY of CRIMINAL VIOLATION of our FEDERAL LAWS, Jumping our borders and living in a shadowy underground economy. They are morally culpable for shoving aside those who adhere to the law and enter these United States in orderly and Legal Fashion. Since when do criminals and cheaters receive pride of place for the blessings of liberty, over those honestly, earnestly and faithfully seeking to become American citizens? President Bush has called for a reasonable and civil debate over the issues of border security and immigration reform. But the American people understand there can be no responsible immigration reform UNTIL OUR BORDERS ARE SECURE. 鈥淕uest worker鈥?amnesty programs ARE NOT a part of border security. Amnesty is not the answer. To grant amnesty to these trespassers is to say "You crossed our borders ILLEGALLY, You BROKE OUR LAWS and now we are REWARDING you with U.S. Citizenship -- Congratulations!" This is unacceptable.
