All american's attention please what do you expect of india in case of your military problems with china? |
how and what do Americans expect of a country like India to be used as a hedge against America just because of job outsourcing and nuclear deals without even looking of a majority of Indians views (not the ones living in America or working for American corporations but the general public) on America and its handling of international matters or how and where they would stand in international matters please read the article below to give u an idea of what im talking about http://yaleglobal.yale.edu/display.artic... In the end, I would imagine the US would "request"/demand access to India's military bases, waters, and airspace, and possibly military support. The Indians would likely be used as a third party to negotiate diplomatically with the Chinese if ties between the US and China were to deteriorate to that point. The US would probably also request India's public support of their war effort. As such, India would probably agree to all of the above. As to the poster directly above me, part of India's "unreliability" has largely been based on the US's historical unconditional support of Pakistan. Trust, between people and between nations goes both ways. The US's history of support enemies wasn't exactly in America's favor. India, threatened by a US-supported Pakistan was pushed towards the only other global superpower: the USSR. Of course, certain socialist elements of India's government did find that more palatable than the US. But you can rest assured that a Soviet-backed Pakistan would have resulted in a US-supported India. India has come a long way from those days, and right now views the US as a warming friend. America's interest in helping India with its energy needs is centered almost entirely in building long term commercial and diplomatic relationships. I would hope they will do the right thing and stay out of it! Alot of american dont expect India to be a hedge for anything. I dont have any idea why the current administration wants to help with your nuclear issues or even sell india our high tech fighter jets when historically India has never been an ally that we could count on, unlike Great Britton,Australia and so on. So not all of us favor it I know I dont. Yale blows....wax. We've had a good relationships with India. Yeah, big business outsources (which ticks me off) but it has brought our countries closer together. Besides, India now is copying Starbucks Coffee. They've opened one called 'StarStrucks' as a competitor. So, the old saying goes...'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.' What does this tell me? That they finally get it and are creating industry and NOT welfare puppies. Edit...India won't get into it. They're not set up for defense. |
