Pls.advice me if my decision to give up my career to study Chinese language is worth enough?

I'm have stable job in China but I really interested to study Chinese language to know more about China and what's going on around me.Does it make sense? The only problem I have is I don't have enough savings to support myself. Maybe I will just find a part time job then.Pls. help me to decide. Thanks a lot!

there is nothing wrong in deciding to give up your career to learn Chinese...since you seem so interested in learning about china,i suggest you to get associated with the tourism board..this way you can earn lots as a guide and your knowledge of Chinese will certainly help. wishing you good luck for a bright future.....

look according to me chinese is one of the most difficult lang. of the world. and learning it might take a lot of time but its also said WHERE TRERE IS A WILL,THERE IS A WAY. So for the time being just leave but continue saving money and after 3-4 months u can start learning it and whn u will hav som money saved with u then u willl hav some confidence also . anyways BEST OF LUCK!!!
Study first, it will be beneficial for you in the future.
And the Chinese language is getting more important as China's economy is improving drastically. There will be more businessmen from China and if you could understand the language, not only will you not get cheated, but you can also bond with the Chinese client since there will be no language barrier. (even if English is an international language, and the Chinese will learn the English language, it is better to learn Chinese to avoid getting cheated, and many other problems.)
