Earnest servant girl saves up money for ticket to China....eventually gets job working for local government unbinding women's feet....saves orphans from Japanese invasion.First one to name the movie and the servant girl gets the 10 points.

Curiously enough, this film made an old children's song, "This Old Man, He Played One.." hit the charts (as "The Children's Marching Song"). The score was by Malcolm Arnold who also wrote the score for Bridge on the River Kwai.
